Tether Unveils U.S.-Regulated Stablecoin USAT with Bo Hines as CEO
Tether has announced the launch of its U.S.-regulated stablecoin, USAT, set to debut later this year. The project will be led by Bo Hines, a former digital assets advisor to President Donald Trump, who joined Tether in August 2025. USAT aims to be a dollar-backed stablecoin compliant with the GENIUS Act, recently enacted stablecoin legislation in the U.S.
The stablecoin will emphasize transparent reserves, strong governance, and American leadership. Hines described the initiative as a way to reinforce the dollar's dominance in the digital asset space while prioritizing compliance and innovation. Tether's move signals a strategic push into regulated crypto markets, aligning with broader U.S. financial policy shifts.
